UGF’s courses are organized into the fields of Human and Social Sciences; Exact Sciences and Technology; and Health and Biological Sciences, as follows:
Human and Social Sciences: Business Management; Accounting; Social Communications; Law; Philosophy; Geography and History.
Exact Sciences and Technology: Architecture and Urbanism; Computer Sciences; Industrial Design; Civil Engineering; Control and Automation Engineering; Petroleum Engineering; Production Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; and Mathematics.
Health and Biological Sciences: Biological Sciences; Physical Education; Nursing; Pharmacy; Physiotherapy; Medicine; Nutrition; Dentistry; and Psychology.
In addition to those listed above, the University offers more than a hundred extension, updating and specialization courses.
Stricto Sensu Post Graduation
Since 1975 more than 1,300 essays and theses were defended on Stricto Sensu Post Graduation of Universidade Gama Filho, which currently provides courses in Law (Candelária), Physical Education (Piedade) and Philosophy (Candelária). The masters’ courses, with duration of two years, and doctorate, completed in four years, have the double objective to qualify professors and to stimulate the research development. The faculty is composed by renowned professionals, with wide academic qualification, which is seen in the maximum concepts that the masters graduated in Physical Education and Law have obtained in the latest Capes assessment.
Lato Sensu Post Graduation
For over 30 years, Universidade Gama Filho has been providing Lato Sensu Post Graduation courses that correspond to specialization in the Human, Technology and Biomedical fields. Every semester, about 100 courses are made available in the entire national territory, with a minimum duration of 360 hours, given by a faculty comprised of doctors and masters qualified to educate students to face an increasingly competitive and demanding work market.
